About Dr. Jerry W. Pounds, Sr.

For over 40 years, Dr. Pounds has served as an active and sought-after mental health practitioner, writer, speaker, and therapist.   

Born and raised in New Orleans, he received a bachelor’s degree from Samford University in 1977, a master's from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1979, and his EdD in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University in 1989.   

Dr. Pounds is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Louisiana (LPC-7825), as well as a Telehealth Registered Professional Counselor in South Carolina (TLC.37.PC).   

Dr. Pounds’s additional training and experience includes:
