I value counseling as a process in which you the client, and I the counselor, can trust one another, work in partnership to explore and explain present problem situations, develop future goals for an improved life, and work in a coordinated manner toward accomplishing agreed upon goals.
I focus on clients with a broad range of individual, marriage, and family concerns. In addition, I am certified to administer the 16PF Personality Assessment Inventory for individuals and groups and am a certified facilitator for Prepare-Enrich and PREP. Further, I am certified to administer EMDR.
The Concierge Package is $3,257 monthly for four 60-minute counseling sessions, plus text, email, and phone support. I provide a free initial 30-minute consultation to discuss potential clients’ needs and how our time together can help them achieve their goals. I do not accept insurance and session notes are not in any electronic format. Check, card, or cash payments are to be made to FamBuilders, Inc. before the first session. I am currently accepting a limited number of session-by-session clients.
I use a variety of counseling techniques based on the needs of the client. I work with clients in various formats, including individually, as couples, and as families. In addition, I see clients of all ages and backgrounds. Appropriate referrals may be suggested if needs warrant such recommendations. I also conduct day-long and weekend therapy, training, and enrichment opportunities for individuals, couples, families, or corporate leadership.
As an LPC, I am required by law to adhere to the Code of Conduct for practice as an LPC that has been adopted by my licensing board, the Louisiana LPC Board of Examiners. A copy of the Code of Conduct is available to you upon request.
Material revealed in counseling will remain strictly confidential except for material shared under the following circumstances, by State law:
1. The client signs a written release of information indicating informed consent of such release.
2. The client expresses intent to harm him/herself or someone else.
3. There is reasonable suspicion of abuse/neglect against a minor child, elderly person (60 or older), or dependent adult.
4. A court order is received directing the disclosure of information.
In the event of marriage or family counseling, material obtained from an adult client individually may be shared with the client’s spouse or other family members with the client’s written permission. Any material obtained from a minor client (under 18) may be shared with the client’s parent or guardian.
It is my policy to assert privileged communication on behalf of the client and the right to consult with the client if at all possible, except during an emergency, before mandated disclosure. I will apprise clients of all mandated disclosures.
When the office is unavailable to answer calls after normal office hours, you may leave a message at 985-789-7146, and I will return your call as soon as possible. In an emergency when an immediate response is necessary, seek help through hospital emergency facilities or by calling 911.
As the client, you are a partner in this counseling experience. Honesty and effort are essential to accomplishing successful counseling goals. As we work together in this relationship, if you have any suggestions or concerns about your counseling, I encourage you to share these with me, so that we can make the necessary adjustments. If I determine that you would be better served by another mental health provider, I will help you with the referral process.
Physical health can be an essential factor in the emotional well-being of an individual. If you have not had a physical examination in the last year, I recommend that you do so. Also, please provide me with a list of any medications that you currently are taking.
As the client, you should be aware that counseling poses potential risks. As we work together, additional problems may arise of which you initially were not aware. If this occurs, please feel free to share these concerns with me.
